The last 18 months have been challenging for a lot of us, for a range of issues triggered by the pandemic. The scale of human suffering, loss and life challenges is unmatched in the post war era. So it is natural to question the point of it all, and that can be a slippery slope.
The good news is that life is returning to normal and hopefully, we are all looking to get back out there, seeing our experience of the pandemic in the right perspective and learning from the experience.
But what is the ‘right perspective?’
Finding this for yourself can be such a revealing journey if you adopt a more spiritual lens to life.
Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga, encouraged students not to wallow in crises, to spiritually transcend. ‘Meditating lifts the consciousness..’, he said, and it is one of the tools recommended in the system he developed.
Arhatic Yoga, focuses not just on meditation practices to build up one’s energy but also a combination of energetic purification practices, study and service to broaden and deepen one’s understanding of the world at an energetic level.
If we were to talk about it in terms of physical fitness, it is a system that layers a detoxing cleanse with working out to build stamina and strength, underpinned by a deeper understanding of theory behind it all! So, an all-round holistic approach that is easy to adopt, follow and delivers great results in terms of mental clarity and emotional grounding. In this state of relative stillness, we are able to take decisions guided by a higher force, resulting in a much better quality of life than one might have otherwise.
Even so, life has a way of getting a bit ‘too-much’ sometimes, often driven by circumstances outside our control. That is why we ‘retreat’. Arhatic Yoga Retreats are designed as an opportunity to get away from the humdrum of life to connect with the teachings, the teacher and the community of fellow practitioners. It is an opportunity to immerse and learn, going deeper with our experience. An opportunity to disconnect and recentre.
We are lucky, we have a preparatory course in Arhatic Yoga coming up on Sep 1-2 in Heythorp, Oxfordshire. If you would like to explore this easy to adopt spiritual practice.
